Smoking is rubbish! It's expensive and very bad for you! It ages your skin, makes you smell and damages your lungs. Don't do it!

The legal age you can buy cigarettes (or any other tobacco type products) has recently been raised to 18!

FACT - If you start smoking before the age of 15 you are three times more likely to die from cancer than someone who starts in their twenties.

If you smoke approximately 10 cigarettes a day it will cost you about £1000 per year!!!

FACT - Cigarettes contain over 4000 chemicals and up to 600 additives and flavourings. Although it is the nicotine in the cigarette that makes smoking addictive, it is actually the chemicals that cause serious illness such as lung cancer, heart disease, and emphysema.

Other physical side effects of smoking include:

  • damaged taste buds
  • stained teeth... urgh!
  • shortness of breath
  • hairy tongue (wanna snog a hairy tongue?)
  • aging skin
  • bad breath... ming!

Don't be pressured into doing anything you don't really want to do or don't like. It's much harder to give up smoking when you're addicted than to say NO in the first place.

If you do smoke but want to give up there are plenty of things you can do to make the process easier...

Visit www.quit.org.uk to access dedicated websites that can help you give up!
